The Mascenic Regional Vikings will head out to challenge the Newmarket Mules at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Mascenic Regional is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.
Mascenic Regional managed to slip by Conant the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Vikings lost 14-6 to the Orioles on Friday. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Payton Lafreniere was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Keating, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Newmarket had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 25-7 margin over the Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Mules, who have now won four games by 12 runs or more so far this season.
Emma Surina made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Surina was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
In other batting news, Hannah Chesley was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Anika Benson was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Newmarket always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .841. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Mascenic Regional's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Newmarket, their record now sits at 10-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mascenic Regional has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Newmarket struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
