Preview: Geneva County Bulldogs vs. Paxton Bobcats
Geneva County is 0-3 against Paxton since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Geneva County Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Paxton Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Geneva County sitting on five straight wins and Paxton on six.
Last Friday, Geneva County beat Wicksburg 59-52.
Meanwhile, Paxton earned a 47-35 victory over Destin on Tuesday. That's two games straight that Paxton has won by exactly 12 points.
Paxton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Morgan, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Morgan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Adams, who scored 11 points.
Geneva County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season. As for Paxton, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Geneva County was dealt a bruising 65-37 defeat at the hands of Paxton when the teams last played back in November of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Geneva County was down 34-13.
