Recap: Rockmart Yellowjackets vs. Murray County Indians
The Rockmart Yellowjackets were the 70-68 winner over the Murray County Indians when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Rockmart took a 65-51 bruising from Murray County on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rockmart has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Rockmart still got an impressive performance from Treylin Davis, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Davis has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Hunter Atkins, who scored 11 points.
Rockmart's defeat dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Murray County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockmart's road trip will continue as they head out to face Haralson County at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Haralson County has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28. As for Murray County, they will head out on the road to square off against Lumpkin County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
