Union lost to Emery back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Cougars breezed past the Spartans to the tune of 40-7.

Union had a senior duo take command as Gannon Labrum rushed for 148 yards and one TD while picking up 9.3 yards per carry and Jd Mojado rushed for 96 yards and a pair of scores. Those 148 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Labrum.

Union was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 452 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Union's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Cruz Labrum: he made six total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended three passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Union now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Emery, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Union will square off against Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Cougars' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Emery, they will challenge Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so the Spartans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
