Southwestern Randolph posted their closest victory since March 20th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Montgomery Central Timberwolves. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Southwestern Randolph pushed their record up to 8-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Montgomery Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Southwestern Randolph wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 13-2 loss against Wheatmore on the 23rd. As for Montgomery Central, they will face off against Union Pines at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
