Softball Recap: Elysian Fields Wins Going Away Against Harleton

After only one run in their last matchup, Elysian Fields made sure to put some runs up on the board against Harleton on Friday. The Yellowjackets put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 13-6 victory. This was a revenge game for the Yellowjackets: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Tuesday, they had to take a 5-1 defeat.

Harper Day was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Kirsten Commander was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February. Rylee Deal was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

Elysian Fields kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Elysian Fields has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-16-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Harleton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-22-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Elysian Fields nor Harleton have any future games scheduled.
