Volleyball Recap: Callie Mccormick's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Notre Dame over Elizabethton

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish came up short against the Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones on Saturday and fell 2-0. The Fighting Irish have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Notre Dame's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Callie McCormick, who had 12 digs and one assist. McCormick has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniyah Brown, who had eight assists and six digs.

Notre Dame's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Elizabethton, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Notre Dame didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Northwest Whitfield on the 15th. As for Elizabethton, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Philip Barbour on the 13th.
