Recap: Cherokee County Warriors vs. Southside Panthers

After flying high against the Etowah Blue Devils on Tuesday, the Cherokee County Warriors came back down to earth. Cherokee County took a 58-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southside on Friday. Cherokee County lost against Southside in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 63-62 score last time.

Grace Anne rose continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Southside, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. The match was Anne rose's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Laylah Davis, who scored 11 points along with three blocks.

Cherokee County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Southside, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Cherokee County and Sardis will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Southside will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Glencoe at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
