Recap: Beaumont School Blue Streaks vs. Lutheran West Longhorns

There's no place like home for the Beaumont School Blue Streaks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They wrapped up 2023 with a 59-44 win over Lutheran West. For Beaumont School, this counts as revenge for the 47-34 loss Lutheran West walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2016.

Beaumont School had a senior duo take command as Shannon Shea dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds and Mackenizie Callender dropped a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Shea has scored at least 25% of Beaumont School's points. Another player making a difference was Maria Goske, who scored 12 points.

Beaumont School's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Lutheran West, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beaumont School will take on Walsh Jesuit at 1:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024. Lutheran West will finish 2023 at home by hosting Orange at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
