Soccer Game Preview: Silver Creek vs. Holy Family

For the first time this season, Silver Creek will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will host the Holy Family Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Silver Creek's offense. They came up short against Boulder on Tuesday, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Silver Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Boulder are ranked second).

Meanwhile, Holy Family lost 8-1 to Cheyenne Mountain on Tuesday. Holy Family have struggled against Cheyenne Mountain recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Holy Family's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Silver Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Silver Creek couldn't quite get it done against Holy Family in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Raptors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
