Baseball Game Preview: Lapel Bulldogs vs. Tipton Blue Devils

The Lapel Bulldogs will take on the Tipton Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lapel will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Lapel is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Elwood with a sharp 12-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Tipton sidestepped Sheridan for an 8-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Blackhawks: they've now won four in a row.

Evan Coe was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jarren Auler, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tipton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.

Lapel's record is now 15-7. As for Tipton, their record now sits at 10-16.

Lapel got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in June of 2025 against Tipton by a conclusive 7-1 score. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
