Basketball Recap: Flagstaff's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Flagstaff entered their tilt with Mingus on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 58-51 win over the Mingus Marauders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 63-59 back in January.

Flagstaff had a senior duo take command as Conrad Poer went 8 for 17 en route to 19 points and six boards and Harrison Fritsch dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Poer has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Troxler, who posted four points and six rebounds.

Flagstaff smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive matchups.

Flagstaff's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Mingus, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Flagstaff didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-49 win against Bradshaw Mountain on the 31st. Mingus has also already played their next match, a 55-45 victory against Mohave on the 31st.
