Volleyball Recap: Alden-Hebron Green Giants vs. Marquette Crusaders

Alden-Hebron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marquette Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Green Giants of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-11.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marquette to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kealey Rick, who had three aces and a kill. That's the most aces Rick has posted in her last eight contests. Another player making a difference was Emily Ryan - Adair, who had four aces and a kill.

Alden-Hebron's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Marquette, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.

Alden-Hebron will challenge Leland at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marquette, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat vs. Vernon Hills on the 28th.
