Volleyball Game Preview: Adena Warriors vs. Wellston Golden Rockets

The Adena Warriors will be taking part in a tournament against the Wellston Golden Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Adena is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

On Thursday, Adena made easy work of Southeastern and carried off a 3-0 victory.

While Adena won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-23, 25-19.

Adena can attribute much of their success to Kortney Sowers, who had 11 digs and four aces, and Kimmy Dalton, who had 18 digs and one assist. Dalton is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

Meanwhile, Wellston was able to grind out a solid win over Eastern on Monday, taking the game 3-1.

Wellston had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-14.

Wellston's victory bumped their record up to 3-20. As for Adena, their win bumped their record up to 21-1.
