Atherton had already won five in a row dating back to last season and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They came out on top against the International Academy Phoenix by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Wolverines, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Atherton never let International Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-23.

Atherton's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Atherton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Bentley on the 23rd. As for International Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hamady at 6:30 p.m. on September 4.
