Soccer Game Preview: Northwestern vs. McCutcheon

The Northwestern Tigers will head out to square off against the McCutcheon Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Northwestern is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Marion on Thursday. The Tigers fell just short of the Giants by a score of 4-3.

Meanwhile, McCutcheon came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Tigers. McCutcheon better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Nery Pacheco, as he scored every single goal for his team.

McCutcheon's win bumped their record up to 10-3-2. As for Northwestern, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5-1.

Northwestern might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from McCutcheon in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
