Softball Recap: West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] Takes a Loss

West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Seymour Indians, falling 15-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 10-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Maci Peterson and Brylee Lawson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Peterson went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Lawson went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Myah Little was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs]'s record now sits at 1-12. As for Seymour, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] will welcome Griggsville-Perry at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tornadoes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.77 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Seymour, they will be playing at home against Pittsfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Saukees have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
