Baseball Recap: Liberty Common Takes a Loss

Liberty Common fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Resurrection Christian on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 7-5. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 18-3 to the Cougars when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Liberty Common saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Weibler, who went 2-for-3 with three runs. Weibler has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Bowyn Caudill was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Liberty Common's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Resurrection Christian, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4.

Coincidentally, Liberty Common and Resurrection Christian will both be playing Peak to Peak the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Pumas at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
