Basketball Game Preview: Grafton Bearcats vs. Tucker County Mountain Lions

The Grafton Bearcats are taking a road trip to take on the Tucker County Mountain Lions at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Grafton is looking for their season's first victory.

It was a proper cat-fight when Grafton took on Elkins on Thursday. Grafton took a blow against Elkins, falling 65-38.

Meanwhile, Tucker County got the win against Doddridge County on Friday by a conclusive 67-47. The Mountain Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Tucker County and bumps their season record up to 15-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points over those games. As for Grafton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.

Grafton was able to grind out a solid victory over Tucker County in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 51-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grafton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
