Basketball Recap: Rene Barrera Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Weimar

Cotulla's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 65-49 win over the Weimar Wildcats.

Cotulla's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rene Barrera, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Barrera is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last five games he's played. Jamarkuz Ramirez was another key player, shooting 41% from the field to rack up 25 points.

Cotulla has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for Weimar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
