Baseball Recap: Pickerington North Beats Pickerington Central for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Pickerington North took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Pickerington Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Tigers 5-3. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on four straight.

Gabe Garcia tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Pickerington North saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Sanders, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. The Panthers are undefeated when Sanders posts two or more stolen bases, but 8-9 otherwise.

Pickerington North pushed their record up to 11-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Pickerington Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pickerington North will host Bloom-Carroll at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pickerington Central, they will be playing at home against New Albany at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
