Football Recap: Valhalla Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Valhalla's offense. They came up short against the Grossmont Foothillers on Thursday, falling 26-0. The Norsemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grossmont had a senior duo take command as Gabi Thomas gained 117 total yards and two touchdowns and Marissa Farace threw for 139 yards and three TDs. Thomas also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making two total tackles and defending three passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Valhalla's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Grossmont, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Valhalla will challenge Castle Park at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grossmont, they will take on San Ysidro at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' defense has only allowed 4.5 points per game this season, so the Foothillers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
