Durham dropped their record down to 16-8 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the East Nicolaus Spartans by a score of 8-7. Surprisingly, this marked the Trojans' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Landon Lynch was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ely Martinez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for East Nicolaus, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since March 8th.

On East Nicolaus' side, the team relied heavily on Braden Hardwick, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The Spartans are undefeated when Hardwick posts two or more runs, but 7-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Lane Dunbar, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

While Durham had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
