Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Morning Star Academy

Morning Star Academy won the last time they faced East Moline Christian, and David Martin did his part to make sure it happened again. The Morning Star Academy Mustangs managed a 25-21 victory over the East Moline Christian Eagles on Thursday thanks in part to Martin, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. Those 21 points gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Brady, who posted four points and four steals. Brady is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, East Moline Christian had strong showings from Preston Baldwin, who had ten points and eight rebounds, and Bright Tsolegnanou, who posted seven points and three steals. That was a full 47.6% of East Moline Christian's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

The win made it two in a row for Morning Star Academy and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for East Moline Christian, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Morning Star Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-4 defeat against Faith Christian on the 6th. As for East Moline Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-25 loss against Quad Cities Christian on the 13th.
