Softball Recap: Calera Eagles vs. McAdory Yellowjackets
Calera was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the McAdory Yellowjackets. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.
Isabelle Overton was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Megan Overton, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Calera's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for McAdory, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calera will square off against Wetumpka at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wetumpka is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season. As for McAdory, they will face off against Hueytown at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
