Football Recap: Vista Ridge Piles Up the Points Against Montbello

Vista Ridge won the last time they faced Montbello and things went their way on Friday too. The Wolves blew past the Warriors 50-20. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Warriors are ranked 183rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Micah Nocita and Deron Tiggett. Nocita rushed for 130 yards and one TD on only 11 carries while Tiggett rushed for 136 yards and one score while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Nocita also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending one pass. Colton Camba was another key player, rushing for 42 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Vista Ridge has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Vista Ridge will challenge Evanston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Montbello, they will take on Evergreen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
