Recap: Fairmont Golden Tornadoes vs. Red Springs Red Devils

The Fairmont Golden Tornadoes posted their closest win yet this season on Tuesday. They skirted past Red Springs 41-39. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Fairmont has scored all year.

Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaedon Porter, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Porter hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Justice Mcmillan was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and two steals.

The win (which was Fairmont's third in a row) raised their record to 12-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Red Springs, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-10.

Fairmont will head out on the road to square off against West Bladen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Bladen is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 12 games. As for Red Springs, they will be playing at home against Midway at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Midway is ranked 403rd, while Red Springs is ranked 407th).
