George County is a perfect 3-0 against Stone since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rebels will head out to square off against the Tomcats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
George County will bounce into Friday's contest after beating East Central, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Rebels came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 8-4 on Tuesday.

Carson Pierce was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Pierce was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, George County let Grant Reeves and Peyton Havard run wild. Reeves went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Havard went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Havard has posted since back in February of 2025. Maddox Dunn also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
George County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Stone was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Patrick on Tuesday, taking the game 6-1.
Brax Batson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carter Williams, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Miles Jackson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Stone's record is now 3-1. As for George County, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
George County's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's matchup. The Rebels have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Stone, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will George County continue to outrun the ball?
George County beat Stone 9-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tomcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
