Football Recap: Lake Morgan Leads Lake Nona's Defense on Friday

Lake Nona was the 23-10 winner over St. Cloud when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions fell 25-17 to the Bulldogs on Friday. While the Lions had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Bulldogs 7-0.

Lake Nona didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Leading the way was Lake Morgan and his one interception. Lake Nona received some extra help from Cristian Cuffy, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

St. Cloud found their leader in sophomore Jeremiah Lattier, who threw for 317 yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one rushing score.

Lake Nona's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for St. Cloud, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Nona will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Harmony at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. As for St. Cloud, they will face off against Gateway at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 11.3 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
