Silver Creek has gone a perfect 10-0 against San Jose recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Raiders will take on the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Silver Creek is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
On Thursday, Silver Creek made easy work of Independence and carried off an 18-2 victory. Considering the Raiders have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Robert 'Bobby' Resendez made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. Silver Creek pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for San Jose, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
San Jose's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Silver Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .412. It's a different story for San Jose, though, as they've only averaged .218. Will they be able to contain Silver Creek's hitters?
Everything went Silver Creek's way against San Jose in their previous meeting back in April, as Silver Creek made off with a 14-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
