Preview: Muncie Central Bearcats vs. Beech Grove Hornets
The Muncie Central Bearcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Beech Grove Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Muncie Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Beech Grove likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Muncie Central took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 42-12 win over Indianapolis Arsenal Technical. The result was nothing new for Muncie Central, who have now won three contests by 27 points or more so far this season.
Muncie Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leo Boyd led the charge by rushing for 182 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Boyd was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards. Another player making a difference was Dae'cion Echols, who rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Beech Grove slipped by Franklin County 28-27 on Friday. The win was just what Beech Grove needed coming off of a 31-6 loss in their prior game.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 4-5.
