Baseball Recap: Elgin Comes Up Short

Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bartlett Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 on Monday.

Elgin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Gasca, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16-1. As for Bartlett, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-13-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elgin will head out to square off against Glenbard East at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bartlett, they will venture away from home to challenge Elmwood Park at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
