Volleyball Recap: Jasper Comes Up Short

After flying high against Rich Hill on Thursday, Jasper came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the Liberal Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jasper started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 17-25, 26-24, 25-21, 15-12.

Alivea Roberts paced Jasper's offense, picking up 13 kills. Roberts got some help from Lexi Rice and her 20 assists. Haidyn Omart controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Braylen Frieden had a dynamite game For Liberal., getting 31 digs. Those 31 digs gave Frieden a new career-high.

Jasper's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 15-14-3. As for Liberal, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8.

Jasper does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Liberal has already played their next match (against Archie), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
