Basketball Recap: Nevada Union Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Nevada Union can now relate to. They fell 48-37 to the Burbank Titans on Wednesday. The matchup marked the Miners' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Burbank was led to victory by Michael Butcher and Cedric Sydnor. Butcher dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Sydnor dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards. That's the most boards Butcher has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Korshawn Sanders-Thomas, who scored nine points.

Nevada Union has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-13 record this season. Burbank pushed their record up to 21-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Nevada Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Burbank, they will challenge Roseville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Roseville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matchups.
