Loyd Star and Puckett squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Loyd Star had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 4-2. The Hornets' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Layla Burt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances.

Loyd Star's defeat dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Puckett, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Loyd Star nor Puckett have any future games scheduled.
