Baseball Game Preview: Sunny Hills Lancers vs. South East Jaguars

The Sunny Hills Lancers will venture away from home to challenge the South East Jaguars at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Sunny Hills will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Having struggled with ten defeats in a row, Sunny Hills turned things around against Troy on Friday. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 5-1.

Dallas Girod was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Siglar, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Girod wasn't the only one making solid contact: Sunny Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, South East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against St. Paul, falling 13-1.

South East saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Gutierrez, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

South East's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Sunny Hills, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-13.

Everything went Sunny Hills' way against South East when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Sunny Hills made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
