Basketball Recap: Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] Falls Short of Martinsville in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] can now relate to. They fell 61-51 to the Martinsville Bluestreaks on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bluestreaks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-55 back in December of 2024.

Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chase Rhode, who posted eight points along with six steals and five rebounds. That's the most steals Rhode has posted since back in December of 2024. Garrett Pollock was another key player, on his way to 14 points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 17 consecutive matchups.

Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] dropped their record down to 13-19 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Martinsville, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-15 record this season.
