Softball Recap: Wilcox RVT Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Wilcox RVT entered their tilt with Abbott RVT on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Wolverines get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Chloe Enger made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashley Stimpson, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Ariana Suarez, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Wilcox RVT always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive games.

Wilcox RVT pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Abbott RVT, they moved to 6-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Wilcox RVT will take on Grasso Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Abbott RVT, they will face off against Stratford at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
