Baseball Game Preview: Nature Coast Tech Sharks vs. Hernando Leopards

The Nature Coast Tech Sharks will face off against the Hernando Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nature Coast Tech's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Hernando's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Nature Coast Tech's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Lecanto hitters got past them. The Sharks came up short against the Panthers on Friday, falling 13-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Sharks have suffered since March 28, 2024.

BRADY MCMURDO made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hernando, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Springstead with a sharp 7-1 win on Friday.

Hernando has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Nature Coast Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-7.

Nature Coast Tech couldn't quite get it done against Hernando in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can the Sharks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
