Volleyball Recap: Sierra Linda Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Sierra Linda and La Joya Community had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bulldogs fell 3-1 to the Fighting Lobos on Monday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Fighting Lobos recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Saydi Poitier paced Sierra Linda's offense, picking up seven kills. Poitier got some help from Sinais Bernal and her 18 assists.

La Joya Community had a senior duo take command as Amyah McAfee had 18 digs and Natalie Trujillo Perez had nine digs and one assist.

Sierra Linda's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for La Joya Community, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-9.

Sierra Linda wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Independence on the 29th. As for La Joya Community, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Washington on the 29th.
