Basketball Game Preview: Gray's Creek Bears vs. Seventy-First Falcons

Gray's Creek is 0-7 against Seventy-First since December of 2015 but things could change on Friday. After both having extra time off, both will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. Gray's Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50 points per game this season.

Gray's Creek took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They snuck past Cape Fear with a 53-47 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gray's Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Quion Andrews, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 22 points. The matchup was Andrews' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezekiel Reed, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 11 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Seventy-First waltzed into their contest last Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 64-55. The 64-point effort marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Seventy-First pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Gray's Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Gray's Creek was taken down by Seventy-First 84-50 in their previous meeting back in January. Can Gray's Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
