Overton and Hillsboro are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2023, but likely not for long. The Bobcats will take on the Burros at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Overton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Overton needed a bit of extra time to put away McGavock. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Raiders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.

Landen Griffey was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Witt Brooks was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hillsboro got the win against Cane Ridge on Wednesday by a conclusive 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Burros, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Justin Umares, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Andrew Hull, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Hillsboro is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Overton, their record now sits at 17-13.

Overton might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from Hillsboro in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
