Basketball Game Preview: Johnson Crusaders vs. Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs

The Johnson Crusaders will square off against the Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Johnson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 47-34 victory over Robbinsville. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Ravens are ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rumson-Fair Haven). They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 65-20 win over Raritan. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Johnson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. The victory was the fourth in a row for Rumson-Fair Haven, bringing their record for this year to 10-7.

Johnson suffered a grim 51-27 defeat to Rumson-Fair Haven in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Johnson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
