Baseball Game Preview: Everett Vikings vs. Grand Ledge Comets

Everett is 0-10 against Grand Ledge since May of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Vikings will venture away from home to take on the Comets at 4:00 p.m. Everett has given up an average of 14.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Everett is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They came up short against Holt, falling 18-2.

Everett saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Prevo, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Aron Esquivel also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Okemos hit Grand Ledge with a five-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. That's two games in a row now that the Comets have lost by exactly three runs.

Grand Ledge dropped their record down to 6-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Everett, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everett might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Grand Ledge when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
