Baseball Recap: Richland Bears vs. Summersville Wildcats
Richland made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Summersville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Richland blew past Summersville 12-3 on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Phoenix Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Alexander, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Johnson wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Richland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Summersville, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richland will head out to square off against Steelville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Summersville, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Summersville Wildcats face off against Chadwick Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
