Softball Game Preview: Winter Park Wildcats vs. Boone Braves

The Winter Park Wildcats will face off against the Boone Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Monday, Winter Park came up short against Innovation and fell 11-6. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carrie Dulgar was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Rylie Scanlon, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Boone unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Horizon by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Braves have suffered since April 16, 2024.

Paige Barry made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Winter Park's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Boone, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Winter Park might still be hurting after the 9-2 defeat they got from Boone in their previous meeting on Friday. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
