Volleyball Recap: Johns Creek Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lanier on Tuesday, Johns Creek came back down to earth. The Gladiators lost 3-0 to the Marist War Eagles on Wednesday. The Gladiators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the War Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-19, 25-16.

Sara Buoni paced Johns Creek's offense, picking up ten kills. Buoni got some help from Adonia Haile and her 18 assists. Caroline Giles controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Johns Creek now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Marist, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Looking ahead, Johns Creek will head out on the road to challenge Chattahoochee at 6:00 p.m. on September 4. After both having extra time off, Marist and Buford will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on September 4.
