Basketball Game Preview: Jersey Panthers vs. Southwestern Piasa Birds

The Jersey Panthers will challenge the Southwestern Piasa Birds at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Jersey is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Freeburg just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to the Midgets.

Meanwhile, Southwestern suffered their biggest defeat since January 29, 2024 on Saturday. They were dealt a 55-27 loss at the hands of Carrollton. The Piasa Birds haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Southwestern now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Jersey, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Jersey strolled past Southwestern when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 38-21. Does Jersey have another victory up their sleeve, or will Southwestern turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
