Softball Recap: Mountain View Prep Gets the Win

The Mountain View Prep Stars had just enough and edged out the Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers 5-3 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Stars.

Braley Richardson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Richardson was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Mya Codispoti was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Bella Dalton was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Mountain View Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Legion Collegiate Academy only managed five hits.

Mountain View Prep's record now sits at 5-8. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 7-6-1.

Looking ahead, Mountain View Prep is taking a road trip to face off against Oceanside Collegiate Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Landsharks will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Stars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, they will welcome Hickory Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Ragin' Bulls have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
