Softball Recap: Beech Grove Comes Up Short

Beech Grove was the 11-0 winner over Indianapolis Lutheran when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hornets lost 9-3 to the Saints on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mylee Boling made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Beech Grove now has a losing record of 10-11-1. As for Indianapolis Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Beech Grove will head out to square off against Rushville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Indianapolis Lutheran, they will welcome Monrovia at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Saints' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
